Average Bra Size for Women
Today, the average bra size is 36 C. In 1991, the average bra size was a 34 B. Everywhere you look you find evidence of fuller figure women. Retailers also note a 30% increase in demand for plus size bras. In the stores, you find large sections of full cup bras near of front of the lingerie section. Fact is that women are getting bigger on top. Why the increase in bra size? Scientists, Sociologists, Physicians, manufactures, and more offer many reasons for bigger breasts.
Breast Augmentation is a main factor in the increase in bust size. Bigger boobs are in - just ask Pamela Anderson and Dolly Parton. Men on average like to look at bigger breasts. Breast Augmentation in countries around the world increased 50%. The women feel bigger is better and opt to increase their breast size through surgical implants. Many women overlook the risk factors of these implant surgeries to gain confidence or attention through a curvier and fuller figure.
Another huge factor in the rise of the average bra size is due to an increase in body fat. People are bigger in size. The average dress size is a 14. People love to eat. The restaurants are serving bigger sizes. Many husband and wives work and pick up the super fatty fast food for lunch and/or dinner. People are eating more beef, fried foods, soft drinks, and bigger quantities. Increased fat leads to an increase of the volume of fat- including in breasts and back.
Teenagers are getting bigger. Teenagers have more proportional figures. They are taller and more likely to have bigger bosoms. Young girls are eating more. Many foods have growth hormones. Curvier is in. Teenage girls want to be in vogue. They do not mind the fuller figure if they have a bigger chest.
Some people in the fashion industry believe that the manufacturers have inflated the sizes. They may be making the cup sizes a little smaller; thereby, the average cup size seems to increase. Larger breasts are fashionable. Why not make women think that they are larger than they actually are? European and French manufactures actually fit tight. A tighter fit means a larger bra size. Bra sizing is not standardized. It would be easy for a bra manufacturer to manipulate the sizes a little bit. You can see this with dress sizes all the time.
Increased estrogen use in the environment and in the form of a pill can be other causes for this increase. When women are pregnant, research shows that their bra sizes usually go up. During pregnancy a women that is a 36B generally will increase to a 38C. Research and business people are taking note and inventing pills, creams, and other products. Natural breast enlargement pills and creams containing estrogen that are now offered over the counter. Some women are using these to try to get bigger breasts. There is also widespread use of oral contraceptives. Oral contraceptives contain hormones such as estrogen. This can make our chest grow. Our environment contains excessive estrogen. We have industrial pollution. We have increase levels of estrogen in our water. Many fish have died off in rivers due to the rise in the estrogen level. Are these hormones increasing the average bra size? It could be a major factor.
No one knows the exact reasons for the increase in the average bra size. We can only make predictions, educated guess, and observation. We do know that there is an increase through consumer demand for these large sizes. Today, 60% of women are a C cup and larger. We do know that hormones can play a part. Women do get bigger in the chest when they are pregnant. We do know that estrogen is found in the environment. The levels of lakes and rivers have risen. We can just look around and see the larger chest sizes. We also know that manufactures have a history of slightly manipulating sizes. The average bra size has increased. The plus side is that most men, women, teenagers, and retailers are happy about the changes. Bigger is better!
