Eco-Friendly Bras, Green Bras, and Eco-Friendly Ideas that Help Save the Planet
It seems everyone is going green these days, even when it comes to bras. The Japanese have been the leaders in the green bra field. Triumph, Inc. has come up with all sorts of eco-friendly bras. Chantelle Bras and Lingerie have come up with bamboo bras. Many companies are starting to use organic cotton bras. People are starting to recycle and find creative ways to use our bras. Here are some of the latest ideas for bras.
Solar Bra
Save global warming with the heated bra by Triumph. This eco-friendly bra has a solar panel which is worn around the stomach. It generates enough heat to charge a cell phone. Powered by the sun, this bra helps with heating. The only drawback is that you can not wear a shirt while wearing this bra. You also need to stay inside during rainy days. This is not sold in stores.
Heated Bra
This environmentally friendly bra, created by Triumph, has gel pads on the bra cups. These gel pads can be heated in the microwave or with a hot water bottle. It is a white fluffy faux fur bra that is stylish and comes with heated underwear.
Bra-Turned-Shopping Bra
In a plea to encourage Japanese people to use cloth bags, Triumph created a bra that turns into a shopping bag. It has padded cups that unfold into a hand held shopping bag. The bra is made of polyester fiber created through recycling. The bra straps can be turned into ribbons to hold the bra-bag.
Chopstick Bra
This bra, created by Triumph, comes with metal, folding, reusable chopsticks. It is meant to encourage the recycling of chopsticks as people in Japan use 200 chopsticks a year. The chopsticks are positioned to enhance the cleavage and a rice bowl is placed on the bra cups.
Anti-Smoking Bra
The creative team at Triumph created a No Smoking Bra. It emits a fragrance designed to kill the desire to smoke.
Heart Monitor Bra
This sports bra, called Numetrex, is designed to hold a heart rate monitor and has tiny electrodes woven into the fabric. Just snap a transmitter into the pocket at the back of the bra and activate a digital watch with the heart monitor setting. The heart monitor bra will detect your heart rate and display the results on a watch while you exercise.
Bamboo Bras
Chantelle has just come out with a bra made of bamboo fibers. It is an ideal material because it does not need replanting, fertilizers, or pesticides. The fabric will be processed with minimum treatment and be just as soft and comfortable as their other bras.
Pine Bras
This bra is made from white pine tree clippings trademarked Lenpur. It is a cool fabric and soft as silk with a touch of cashmere. The wood is cultivated in a small French village and broken down using enzymes. The fibers are spun and non-toxic dyes are used.
Organic Cotton Bras
Organic cotton bras are on the rise with many manufacturers. They are grown and processed without toxic chemicals, synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or insecticides.
Recycle Your Bras
Although recycling is on the rise, most companies will not recycle bras. A plant in the UK, Oxfam, is a recycling plant that started to recycle old bras.
Donate Your Bras
Good conditioned used bras can help out a lot of homeless women. Make sure that the straps and clasps are in good working order before you give them to charity.
Make Something
Create a bra purse. Instructions can be found on many sources on line. Use your bra to hold potpourri. Patch your other clothing with the bra fabric. Sew the bra into a camisole. Use your imagination.
Feel good about yourself. Help do your part to save the planet, and be green. Although most of these bras are not on the market yet, you can still recycle, donate, or reuse your old bras in another manner. Inventors are on the right track by just thinking of eco-friendly bras.
